Dickens of a Christmas

Vince and I took Evan downtown for his first Dickens of  a Christmas last night.  There were hundreds of people there.  The Young Leaders Society (United Way) had rented an empty building and held a small party indoors.  We were able to visit with folks and get free pictures with Santa!  He was a great Santa!!  I was so excited.  Evan really studied him and smiled the whole time. Some of these pictures will be making their way onto our Christmas card this year!

Aquarium

Evan went to his first aquarium in Gatlinburg, TN.  He really took in all the fish and other sea creatures.  And he enjoyed looking at the penguins. We had a great time showing him all the different marine animals.

Thanksgiving Continued

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg, but boy did it go by too fast.  We didn't get to half the places we wanted to go.  However, we didn't rush around and try to squeeze it all in, either.  We relaxed and took our time each day.  We got to see lots of family as Jerry's side of the family was also in the area vacationing.  We ate dinner with them that Saturday night.  On Friday night, we took Evan to the aquarium.  He really took everything in and liked looking at the fish. That will be in another post.

We took some family photos for our annual Christmas card as well.  And as a bonus, Billy came over on Saturday afternoon to meet us for a late lunch & some light shopping.  Fun times all around.

Evan's First Thanksgiving

The Park Vista in Gatlinburg has hosted our Thanksgiving lunch for the past 4 years. Once again, the food was great.  I had turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, ham, and three desserts: pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and strawberry cheesecake.  It was all very good!
Evan slept through lunch, but we woke him up for some pictures.  They have great photo ops in and around the hotel.

This one was a little crooked because I used the self timer on the camera and perched it on the stroller on a hill.  I think it turned out really good, though! The weather was just perfect.

Helmet 1 Week Results

Evan has done great with the helmet all week. His head no longer has the bumps on the sides that make his head look wide. The back is still flat. It's amazing how different it looks just after one week. We also had to decorate it to make it look more fun.  We went with GA Bulldogs theme.

This is Evan during his hour break of not wearing the helmet.  He wears it 23 hours a day.
Here's the back of his head after one week.
And here is the front of his head after one week.

He goes back to the doctor today to get it adjusted, then will go back every two weeks.
