London, England

Vince and I were given the opportunity to visit London this summer. My sister had prepaid for a room last year that needed to be used by the end of July. Vince and I were able to grab some standby flight tickets and made it to England on Friday. The first day we slept a few hours after checking into our hotel. The overnight flight was not comfy and we did not sleep much. We had to walk through a rain storm to find our hotel. The rest of the long weekend, the weather was great.

We explored the area around us at Victoria Station and found several nice restaurants and stores. We ate the customary fish & chips, along with mushy peas. The next few days we spent as tourists checking out all the fun places to visit. We rode subways (the tube), buses, a boat, and walked a LOT.

It was a whirlwind trip with a 9 hour plane ride there and back. We toured Saturday - Monday and flew back home on Tuesday. Thanks to Vince's parents, my parents, and my sister & her kids (plus Cody) for watching the boys and keeping them on schedule. They had birthday parties both Saturday and Sunday, so they had a great time while we were away. It was the first time we ever left them for more than 1 night, but everyone did great. I'm ready to go on vacation again!
