Evan's 1st Birthday Party

After months of careful planning, we held Evan's 1st birthday party on March 9 at my parents' new house here in Spartanburg.  We invited lots of family and a couple of friends.  Since Vince had to work that day, we scheduled it at 6pm and made a pasta dinner for everyone.

I found his invitations, outfit, and banner on Etsy.
My friend Jessie took some fabulous pictures before & during his party.

I made all the food and desserts.

Evan liked his decorations, balloons, and Mickey Mouse shirts that lots of folks wore.

We tried to get a picture of all the guests holding Evan.  We missed one picture of our photographer & friend, Jessie & her family, but got everyone else.

We started off the activities by having sensory time for the babies.  We had rice, cooked spaghetti, cotton, and ice blocks.

We then had music time with maracas and bells.  I forgot to get actual music ready for the party so we just made our own music with the instruments.

The older kids were building the Mickey Mouse clubhouse out of dry spaghetti noodles and mini marshmallows.
Evan then opened a ton of gifts.  he got some great items! Thanks to everyone that bought him something special.

Evan liked the cake pop for a few minutes before he threw it down. He was not interested in his cake.  I put his hand in it after a few minutes, but he didn't want any part of it.

He always touches new things with his thumb very cautiously.

We gave out a few party favors to the kids.  The little kids had buckets with bibs and a sippy cup.  The older kids had a bucket with a kazoo and candy.  We gave everyone a handmade Mickey Mouse koozie to take with them after using for their drink. I had to order the plain red, unstitched koozie on line and get a friend to stitch on the design for each one.  They turned out great!
Evan had a great time at his party!  In fact, we all did!
Happy 1st Birthday Evan Vincent Williams!
