Summer Vacation

This year we took our summer vacation in the middle of July. We visited Florida and stayed at Pat & Rachel's timeshare condo. It was a great little resort, but rained heavy every afternoon. I feel like we didn't nearly get our money's worth. We went to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom (where Alex broke his radius in his wrist on the Boneyard playground).

We also went to Melbourne Beach for a night and day to visit Aunt Lucy & Uncle Sonny. The boys played for a bit on the beach and in the hotel pool.

We then spent two days at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. The boys had a fun time. I only wish we didn't have rain and had more time to do it all.

This is the playground that Alex broke his arm. He tried to go on the net bridge and it flung him forward onto his arm when his foot got caught. We had it x-rayed when we got home and it showed a small buckle fracture in the radius of his arm bone near his wrist. He gets to wear a cast for 4 weeks.

Billy joined us for our day at Animal Kingdom.

Chef Mickey's was by far the best food and atmosphere.

Visiting Aunt Lucy and all the cousins

Alex went up to this storm trooper and hugged him. It stopped the storm trooper in his tracks and everyone around us laughed. A few minutes later, their guide asked us to follow them to a private photo op session outside. They were so patient with Evan and allowed us to take all the pictures we wanted.

Summer Time

Our summer has flown by this year. The boys were enrolled in 4 summer camps at church - 2 different weeks in June and two in July. They loved it. We had one hiccup in June when Evan got sick and became dehydrated. We had to go to the hospital and stay overnight for IV fluids. He was such a trooper and did great. We had a fun time keeping his IV in and keeping him occupied while there. We stayed at Spartanburg Regional and they took great care of us.
In early June, we visited Lake Lure and did the boat tour. Alex helped drive the boat.

For Father's Day, we went to the Marriott and had a great lunch with Vince's parents and Jenay.
We saw Elmo and friends live and then Alex attended a friend's birthday party in June.

I signed up Alex and Evan for swim lessons/therapy. Alex and I attended a mommy & me class each day for two weeks. We saw our friends Julie & Jude there. Evan started swim therapy on Fridays.

We joined Vince's work group at the Greenville Drive baseball game to see Tim Tebow play ball.

The boys also enjoyed VBS at our church in July. Our theme was Galactic Starveyors.
