I haven't really kept up with Evan's monthly milestones after he turned one, but the last couple of weeks have been very significant for him. I wanted to make note of all the fun things he has done in just the last few days or weeks.
1. Crawling. Evan can crawl (and sometime frog hop) like a champ now.
2. Pulling up. Evan pulled up on his crib a month or so ago so we lowered it. This week, he finally pulled up on the port-a-crib which is a stretch for him to reach. He does it over and over now! He tries to pull up on many things, some of which are not very stable. He does not, however, like to hold on once he is up, so he falls over quickly.
3. Speaking. Evan says mama, dada, and uh (for uh oh). I think I also heard him say bath the other night. I don't know really what to count as his first word as he said dada and mama almost in the same sentence. But I think I'll put down mama as his first word. He says lots of different sounds. And will yell at you if you take away his toy or bottle that he wants.
4. Eating. We still spoon feed Evan his main food, but he will pick up and eat puffs on his own. We have transitioned from pureed foods to more toddler foods. He loves the ravioli pasta bites. We also are transitioning from formula to whole milk. We are on the last container of formula! He does not like the sippy cup, as he just chews the spout, so we are still using bottles.
5. Shoes. This past week, we had Evan evaluated for ankle braces to see if he needed them. Luckily, he does not! The doctor said Evan is doing great and will out grow his tip toe stand after a couple of months. We are letting him wear shoes all day to give him the extra support he needs. He does great with his shoes on and does not get them off easily.
6. Hair. Evan's hair grows like crazy. I trimmed his bangs again this week to keep them out of his eyes. I love his hair, so don't want to cut it too short, but it grows fast!
7. Teeth. Evan has 5 teeth in now. He likes to chew on everything. He has his top two primary molars, one bottom middle tooth, and his two top middle teeth. He's been such a champ about teething!
Our little baby is quickly becoming a toddler! And one of the cutest little toddlers I know!
