Evan's First Field Trip

Evan went on his first ever field trip with his school this week.  Every Thursday they have miniature horses come to the school for his class to brush and pet.  Yesterday, he rode the bus (for the first time ever!) with three other classes to Hope Remains Youth Ranch. They got to ride on the big horses, go on a wagon ride, play on their playground, and brush the miniature horses.

I followed behind the bus with the other parents in a line of cars.

The school nurse went along with the group and carried Evan off of the bus.

His class went on the wagon ride first. He sat with his assistant teacher, Mrs. Lori. 

They then rode the big horses.  Evan did not want to put on the helmet, but once he was on the horse named Tracker, he was happy, and then said "helmet on" when I took it off of him.  

They next went to the playground, but Evan did not participate much.  He wanted to eat the dirt and rocks.  He did find a few numbers on the Dora mats they had laid out.

Lastly, they brushed the miniature horses and some of the kids led them around.  Evan was just wanting to eat the sawdust so he was quite a handful.  Overall he had a fun time.

He is the only boy in his classroom. Don't they look sweet?!
