I had my cousin in-law, Pat's sister, Darla, make the boys their Easter shirts this year. She makes the cutest shirts and I had already bought several from her for their birthdays, Disney, etc. They were a little more casual than the traditional Easter toddler suit that most kids wear, but I got some good use out of them at a couple of Easter egg hunts, visiting the Easter bunny, and on Easter Sunday. The boys looked so cute in their personalized shirts.
They both loved the Easter bunny at the mall. Evan kept looking at him so it was hard for him to want to look at the camera. Alex got comfy and wanted to sink into him and snuggle. They did not want to leave the Easter bunny.
We had an Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood the week before Easter. It was the first time Alex had ever been to one. We practiced that week putting his play balls in his Easter basket so he performed like a champ. Evan liked opening each egg to see what was inside before placing it in his basket.
Our second Easter egg hunt was at church the Saturday before Easter. Alex fell asleep and missed out, but Evan collected more than enough eggs for both of them.
Easter Sunday was busy at church, but since I only keep the 2 year old nursery on the odd months, I got to go to service and see the Easter sermon. We attended the contemporary service for the first time in order to free up space in the main building for guests. It was a nice change of pace and we both enjoyed it.
After church we ate our traditional Easter ham dinner that I made in my new pressure cooker that I got for Christmas. That afternoon we had our third Easter egg hunt at the house of Vince's co-worker. Both boys enjoyed themselves. Alex was quite social and said hi to everyone. Evan liked their dog, especially his tail.

Evan's Tractor Themed 3rd Birthday Party
Evan loves to play with his toy tractors and he loves to ride on Vince's lawn mower. I decided to have a tractor themed party for his 3rd birthday. Pat's sister, Darla, made some cute shirts for me and she made the tractor koozies that we passed out as party favors. I made the cake, cookies, and cupcakes. We bought some pizza and salad and the party was on!
Thanks to everyone that came out to help Evan celebrate. He had a brief melt down part way through the party, but other than that, we all had a great time. Happy 3rd birthday to my little boy!
Evan loved eating a large pickle at his party.
We found a cute cardboard cut out of a tractor to take pictures.
Evan loved his cupcake and made a total mess with it.
He got some great gifts from friends and family.

Evan is 3 years old!
I can't believe that it's been 3 years since Evan was born. I remember his birth as clearly as if it happened yesterday. He impresses me every day with his abilities and sense of humor. Evan is a joy to be around and makes us all laugh a lot.
In our school district, the day you turn 3 you are eligible for public school services. Evan has been at the ELC on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the past year and a half. Today he started school with our school district and will go every day from 8am - 10:30am. His teacher and her assistant are super nice and I think Evan will do great in their classroom.
We are having his birthday party in a week and a half, so more pics will be posted after the party. As for now, I have some comparative pics from the last couple of years.
Evan now says 1 to 3 word phrases. He mimics many phrases, sounds, or actions that others around him do. He loves pickles, cookies, ice cream, bacon, potato chips, and even salads. He weighs over 22 pounds now and is getting taller as he is reaching more things on the kitchen counter tops. Evan wears size 18 months - 2T clothes, depending on the brand. He wears a size 5 1/2 toddler shoe (that he loves to take off all day long).
Evan loves chasing Alex and interacting with him. They really feed off of each other and imitate each other often. They both share toys, and then immediately take them back. They always fight over the same toy, which is whatever the other one just picked up. I had no idea the toy envy started so early.
Evan enjoyed his first day at his new school today and then got to go with Grandmama and Papa to the mall to play on the indoor playground and ride the mechanical rides.
Happy birthday to my precious little boy! We love you, Evan!
