Our yearly tradition of having Thanksgiving dinner at the Doubletree Park Vista hotel in Gatlinburg continues! We arrived in Gatlinburg on Wednesday and had gorgeous weather the entire stay until we had to drive home Sunday. We walked the strip a few times, ate out a few times, and chilled in the condo many times. I brought my crockpot and made vegetable beef soup that we ate a few nights. Jerry & Barbara provided the sausage biscuits and pastries for breakfast. We did not lack for food!
We even met Santa getting out of his electric sleigh in the parking lot after our Thanksgiving buffet lunch!
The next day we ate BBQ then went to visit the Festival of Trees & Santa Claus.
On Saturday we visited the Ripley's Aquarium. The boys watched this penguin flipping over and over in the water.
We saw Santa (or as Alex calls him, Ho Ho) again outside the aquarium.
Vince & I wanted to see the gingerbread houses at the Grove Park Inn, so on the way home, we stopped in Asheville. There are some very talented bakers! The weather was so nice and the food was great. We had a great long weekend in Gatlinburg!
