It's hard to believe that it's been two years since Alex was born. I feel like he skipped over the baby stage so quickly and bounded into being a little boy. I've already lost track of the little things like bottle feedings and the exact time of his birth - all the things I'll have to look up now. He is such a fun little boy. Alex loves to imitate others and speech is one of his strengths. He can have a full conversation with anyone about anything. He is strong willed and knows exactly what he wants. Alex even knows how to tease and be silly about things. He argued with us for a week that he was still one year old instead of two. He thought we were teasing him. He knows all of his colors, several letters of the alphabet, and can count to 11, but usually leaves out the 5 and 6. He can identify all the numbers 1 - 10. He can also identify every relative he's met, all the characters on his shows, and asks where Santa Claus (Ho Ho) is on a daily basis. Poor kid does not grasp that Santa won't be back for 11 more months.
Alex is very demanding of people and insists that they sit or eat or give him things at his command. He displays lots of leadership skills! His favorite color is orange and he goes potty on a frequent basis in order to obtain his orange and blue M&M treats. He puts himself to sleep in his toddler bed and tells everyone night night.
He currently wears size 12-18 months, drinks a gallon of milk in 3 days, and loves Oreo cookies. Alex loves other children and still refers to them as babies. He loves interacting with people and smiles all the time. We are so blessed to have Alex in our family.
For his actual birthday, I made Sesame Street cookies and let the boys have one before breakfast.
We went to church and let Alex play in the toddler classroom, then went to Jason's Deli for lunch. He got to eat many of his favorite things including ice cream. We took the boys to Outback Steakhouse for Alex's birthday where they shared another bowl of ice cream after dinner.
Happy 2nd birthday, Alex!
