On Sunday, Vince & I headed over to Pigeon Forge to try our luck on the Smoky Mountain Ziplines. This company was fairly new & had state of the art equipment, a really nice huge building, and Army transport trucks to take us up the mountain. We zipped down 18 lines. The first lines was short & low to the ground. It started at the top of the mountain. The platform we landed at was also the start of the second zipline. Each landing platform was also the launching platform of the next line & each line got longer, faster & higher. Our last line was near the bottom of the mountain. I highly recommend doing the ziplines.
We had a blast. It rained pretty steady on us from line 6 to about line 13, but that made the lines faster, so we didn't mind too much. We had 11 people in our group so it took about 2.5 hours to do all 18 ziplines. The guides were great & safety was their top priority. The company provided us free soft drinks, hot tea, & hot cocoa as well. The hot cocoa was a welcome relief after being cooled off from the rain.
For dinner, we met all the relatives at the Carver Apple House in Cosby for a wonderful home-cooking meal. I ate chicken & dumplings along with some veggies, apple fritters, and apple cider.
